The Orchestra

The Acquire Orchestra brings together musicians from across central Scotland to study and play through large scores from the vast canon of West End and Broadway musicals.

Often, when musicians are invited to play in orchestra pits for theatre productions, they are given little time to work together to perfect a score. Joining the Acquire Orchestra provides a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with our conductor to rehearse, fine-tune and study a score over a 10-12 week period, culminating in a play-through of the whole score on the final evening, without the pressure of an audience present.

At the end of each 10-12 week block, the Orchestra Team will choose a new score to study and assemble a new orchestra according to the requirements of the orchestration. This means that we are always welcoming new people to the Acquire family.

We are committed to providing a fun, friendly and inclusive environment where musicians can learn and grow as performers. Previous experience of playing at a Sing-through or in an orchestra pit is not required.
